Portfolio > Community Collaborations

This 'zine publication is the result of a summer-long collaborative project with five women recently released from from Arkansas' Wrightsville Correctional Facility. The publication features excerpts from individual conversations with them, related to their hopes for their lives beyond prison. The 'zines were distributed in public locations chosen by the women, re-introducing these women and their stories to their communities.
Cover design: Kim Wardenburg
Artwork by David Bailin, Katie Dunn, Anita Horton, Kevin Kates, Holly Laws, Delita Martin

This 'zine was part of a larger public art project, also a collaboration between myself and these women, that included a public sculpture in Little Rock, AR.

Role: Pelz curated the artwork, built relationships with and interviewed participants, and distributed 'zines to community gathering sites.
